Spelling mistakes be damned. This is the most helpful article I have EVER found on this topic.

GeminiGeek covers all the points that I'm usually too riled up about to explain to email writers, novice and expert alike.

As a professional technical writer, I know it takes effort to put something like this together and I'm very appreciative of the time and patience that went into getting this down in writing. In fact, I am so grateful that from now on, everyone who sends me garbage email (starting with my Mom) is going to be directed to this page.

May you go viral, GeminiGeek.com !

That's good but it relies on my friends to protect my email addy. Is there a method that I can hide my email address so it will not show up when they forward an email?

Pelf: Good, all chain mails ends with you. I only forward emails that I find the information is worth sharing :D

Yuen-Chi Lian: Too bad not many people use BCC. They put everyone in TO, and there goes all the address is in the forwarded message, which is pretty scary.

Right on that -- use the BCC fields. I really hope people won't put me into the visible forward-list, I haven't yet received a spam after switching to this current mail account since half year ago.
