GeminiGeek.com Revamp
Welcome to the new look GeminiGeek.com. Renamed from Clueless Dream to GeminiGeek’s Online Journal.
Well, there’s quite a number of changes made to this new version of my personal site. The most obvious one is the looks, of course. This new theme consist of 3 main color; white, pink and black. I believe all 3 colours fitted in well.
SubKiller requested me to release this theme, but bad news buddy, I am not going to release this theme, yet. I am currently working on Cherry Berry version 2, and the theme is most probably gonna look like this, of course without the bells and whistles added to this one I’m using. So, stay tune.
This theme is currently running a beta run, or whatever you call it. If you spotted any errors when navigating around, don’t hesitate to leave a comment on this entry or contact me via my email or MSN Messenger at geminigeek [at] gmail [dot] com.
Right, let me explain the changes from Clueless Dream to GeminiGeek’s Online Journal. Other than the looks, I’ve change the site structure. Instead of using the blog subdomain, I decided to change it to /blog directory. It makes more sense like this. For those linking me, it’s time to change the URL. You can either link to me at www.geminigeek.com or www.geminigeek.com/blog.
I will be changing the categories and also rewriting all my profiles and about page. Probably will add some other stuff such as the commenting policy that I plan to do even before the revamp. I will also add a Projects page, so everyone can keep on track of what I am currently working on.
That’s about it I guess. I will explain more on what did I do to my Wordpress to get it work to the way I want. ![]()

Default Looks, for temporary
I am now working on the new theme, and I will be able to use it in a day or two. Be patient, alright?
At the mean time, you can enjoy my site, ad-less. This shouldn’t be a bad thing. Hehehe ![]()

Fix Connection Closed by Peer Problem
I’m sure most Malaysians knows that TMNet is doing something nasty on the heavy bittorrent users like me. Lately, they’re doing something nastier. Not just blocking peer to peer connection to international user, they’re now blocking P2P client connection to tracker! They’re on their evil plan on totally banning P2P!
At first, it happened to my brother, and he was using BitComet as his BT client. After the Taiwan earthquake, he started to have problems connecting to tracker, and that means he can’t even download anything! NO Tracker Connection = NO Peers Information = Can’t Download file. But that time, I was using uTorrent, and it works just fine. Just this few days ago, they started to block uTorrent client as well. It was a disaster! I tried using Flashget, but no luck as well. TMNet started to BAN ALL CLIENT eventually. Talking about Internet Domination….
Although I must say that connection to private tracker like MyTorrent seems to be working fine
There is a discussion over at the uTorrent forum, and some of them suspects that TMNet is banning connection that has the torrent client user-agent. I did some testing, and it turns out that if you connect to the browser as any normal internet browsers like Firefox or Internet Explorer, the connection to the tracker is fine!
So what can we do? We can change the way our BT Client send the HTTP headers, by using a proxy server. There’s a workaround posted by one of the Lowyat Forumer. By using PAW Project, you can filter the outgoing packet, and even change the User-Agent! So, if you send packet from any torrent client to tracker as Firefox or Internet Explorer, or even as empty user-agent, you can connect to the tracker.
It works so far. I am able to connect to tracker, though the speed is still slow since I have to rely on Local Peers and Seeds. So now, I don’t have any Connection Closed by Peer problem in my utorrent. Kudos to the people of Lowyat Forum.

You may find that your email hosting is lacking in the options and power that you could have through other email hosting programs, a good example of which being Microsoft Exchange server packages. You can often save money on them buy getting it from your Coldfusion hosting provider as a package.

Hiatus until Further Notice
I will be taking a long break from the blogosphere. That’s why I haven’t been writing lately.
When will you be back?
Probably Chinese New Year, probably earlier. I don’t know, things could just happen. But this break is definitely longer than my previous hiatus. Things happens. After the break, I will not continue Clueless Dream.
Seriously?
Yes. Seriously. Although Clueless Dream does gives me income, but I am still thinking whether or not to continue Clueless Dream. I am looking for a better niche to write about. I decided to ditch my personal life to my written diary. Wait, I don’t even write diary. Hah
That means?
I am not going to stop blogging. Definitely not. I still have the passion to write, but I decided not to write anything too personal. You see, I love computer stuff, and my tagline; “When a Geek blogs nothing Geeky” spoils all the fun geeky stuff I can write about. That’s why I am planning to shutdown Clueless Dream and revive geminigeek.com as a different niche blog. It would become not too personal.
What are you going to do during this break?
Study. And also redesign my site. I hope everything can be completed by Chinese New Year.
Once GeminiGeek.com is revived as different blog, what would happen to the old entries in Clueless Dream?
Remain in my blog, of course. Certain entries has considerable amount of traffic from the search engine, everyday. And those are my main source of income.
There’s not much changes then? Why bother announcing this then?
Yea, nothing so serious. I’m not going to quit blogging after all. Just a switch on what I will be writing, and also some looks changes. Why I bother announcing this? Hey! I haven’t write anything in 2007 after all.
That’s about it. ![]()
