Spam, Spam, and More Fucking Spam
Recently, my blog got attacked by some spambots. And yes, around 2000-3000 spams per day caught by my anti-spam plugin on my blog. That sure sucks. I am so tired of those spams clogging up my database and eating up my precious bandwidth. My blog took around 50-60MB bandwidth per day only. Because of those spambots, my bandwidth increase 100%!!! Now my site took 100-150MB bandwidth per day!! Damn!
Because of these nuisance, I upgraded my wordpress and all my spam plugin. Hopefully my first, the outer most protection can prevent all those spams from coming in. Then, I don’t have to worry about my bandwidth sucking up 
Enough geektalk. Now to the test phase. For anyone reading these, try leaving a comment, see if my spam plugin caught you as spam or not. Of course, don leave pointless comments like “asdasdasd”. That is spam. Anyway, if you are not a spambot but you are flagged as spams, leave me a message at the shoutbox or my email/msn messenger at geminigeek [at] gmail [dot] com. I will try to resolve the issue as fast as possible. Thanks

Hope you’re using Bad Behavior. Cause by far, that’s the best bot spam filter for WordPress. Though…it’s still in Beta. But it works nevertheless.

Yeap, I am using BB2, the beta. Hope it works perfectly filtering all those spams, cos I think my SK2 is tired catching all those spam. I myself is tired clicking on the delete button.

Bad Behavior owns!
Within a day, I’ve had absolutely no spam whatsoever. But I’m still holding all comments with links for moderation just to be on the safe side.

Oh yeah and I forgot, the new generation spam DOES go through. We’re helping develop it better though, but it won’t be for a while. What you can do is get Akismet which is better than SK2 because it should give you lower false positives.

Ahaha… looks like commenting doesnt seems to be a problem. So far, there’s no false positive, and BB2 really blocks 90% of those spam. I wonder how the other 10% goes through, but that is where my SK2 and akismet do their job.
