Heh, I am really a big time leecher.
Look!!! I upload less than 50% of what I downloaded. Looks like people like me won’t create a better future for the torrent community… Oh well, I’m just a typical Malaysian. 
Actually, I do want to seed, but due to my small harddisk space (20GB), I have to move all my downloaded files to my brother’s PC. This PC is too old, I don’t plan to do any upgrade to it at all. So I just let it be with the small 20GB capacity.

Just leave it running till you reach 1:1 ratio of upload and download, start your next download after you reach 1:1 ratio.
Then it’s fair.
I do that, as my computer is idle overnight anyway, just leave it seeding.

Dude. Don’t stereotype the ‘typical Malaysian’ into selfish obscurity. Small HD is not an excuse. I’m running off a 10GB HD and seeding goes on to 200%. As ShaolinTiger says, leave it running overnight (or all day) and let the client handle the process (e.g. don’t tweak down the ratio and don’t manual start any downloads). Then it’s fair.

I am on utorrent’s schedule. All my downloads/uploads starts around 4am-12pm, everyday. I usually didn’t stop my downloads/uploads that time, its just that streamyx offers me 90Kbytes download and 30KBytes upload. Seeding up till 1.0 dl/ul ratio takes time. Some time I have more files to download, so I can’t keep those files in my hdd for a very long time.
Most people are leechers. Some old torrents I got is hard to get seed, so I just download it straight away if there’s only 1 seed. When this situation happens, I moved my “finished download” to my brother’s PC, while having some file 0.3-0.7 ul/dl ratios.
Typical Malaysian? Maybe you’re not in the leecher category. 6 out of 10 people that I know who uses torrents is a big time leecher like me. Some don’t even know what is seed, and they just stop their “seeding” once the leeching is done.

Mine is even worse, at 111GB D/L to 32GB u/l. No excuses there, really, even with the fact that I’m sharing my line with 7 people (that are armed) does not count as an excuse :P.
