WP Theme Competition

January 5th, 2006 in Personal and Wordpress

As I said earlier, I am working on a new theme for a public release. The time is here, what a coincidence that KCYap is announcing a wordpress theme competition!! Chance!! Chance!! Chance!! I want an IPOD!! :D

Well, competition starts on 15th January and ends on 28th February. One whole month to design, the time is more than enough. I have been lazying around, and now its time for me to play with codes!! Woohoo 8)
Hmmm… with 10 judges around, and the judges are secret, I wonder how do they judge the design. Accessibility? Looks? Cross-browser compatibility? But I guess that DannyFoo and AlexAllied are surely two of the 10 judges, since they are quite popular for designing in the malaysian blogospehere.

That’s all I have to write for today. Blogger’s block for the past few days. X/

Ooo… new theme eh, I sokong you 100%.

I kinda like your themes a lot, especially after seeing lolitron’s site, hopefully, you’ll make something even better than that.

Don’t mind if I use your theme after it’s done, eh :P .

Glad to hear you’ll be working on some WP 2.0 specific themes! Hope you can take advantage of the customizability that WP 2.0 allows for (see themes like Regulus, for example).

Just wanted to drop you a note b/c I’ve been playing around w/1.5 themes to see which ones work with WP 2.0, and I noticed that your Cherry Berry theme isn’t correctly determining the number of comments on a post (they’re all set at zero). Don’t know if that’s the only glitch in the theme since the upgrade, but thought you might wanna know

Good luck at the theme competition!

I take back what I said about the comment count being broken on your theme — turns out it’s a WordPress 2.0 specific problem (doh!)

Yea, there is comment number problem if you’re using the RC, I’m not sure about the stable version though. Many people have problems upgrading, that’s the reason I am not upgrading my site to WP 2.0, not just yet.

Comments count error in WordPress 2 is caused by the Spam Karma 2 plugin.

    Here’s how to fix it. http://www.alexallied.com/web-20/wordpress-2-comments-count-fixed :)

    *shrug*

KC hasn’t spoken to me about this as of yet. But I might be helping him out choose something that’s more effectice to his website not in terms of just design. I look at websites from overall views of design to usability.

so there’s a hint for anyone here participating. ;)
