Don’t Know our National Anthem?
Actually, this post is written in BM. I changed my mind in the end. It’s way too hard. I know I’m a SPM candidate and I have to score my BM to get the SPM certificate. But then this post sounds so funny in BM. :fishy:
Anyway, I was suppose to write this 2 days ago, but I was way too busy with my homeworks and the Merdeka Theme.
It was our Moral Lesson. Our teacher talks about the Merdeka Day and patriotism stuff. Then, she suddenly asked the whole class to write the lyrics of Negaraku. She then ask one of my classmate to stand up and she asked, “What is the last line of the song Negaraku?”. The classmate of mine looks blankly. He doesn’t seems to know!!!
Weird, just weird… almost 11 years (6 in primary, 5 in secondary) of singing the national anthem in assembly, and he doesn’t know the lyric. I began to wonder, is that few line of Negaraku lyric so hard to remember? Is it because he’s from a chinese based primary school, and he don’t sing Negaraku in his school? That’s just my assumption, I’m from sekolah rendah kebangsaan, and we sing Negaraku every assembly, and I’m not sure how does the chinese based school works. Even if that is a problem, he’s in a national secondary school. He sings Negaraku as much as I sing it in the assembly. In this 5 years of singing, he still doesn’t know the lyric?
Ouch, Negaraku is so simple…
Negaraku
Tanah tumpah-Nya darahku
Rakyat hidup, bersatu dan maju
Rahmat bahagia, Tuhan kurniakan
Raja kita selamat bertakhta
Rahmat bahagia, Tuhan kurniakan
Raja kita selamat bertakhta
Raja kita selamat bertakhta is the last line. I don’t think Negaraku is so hard to remember.

The Merdeka Theme
I know, I know… This theme is not so merdeka-ish…
At least I show my patriotism by putting the flag on my site. Anyway, this theme will only last for until 16 September. I still think 16 September is important
Well, I guess it’s a real success for a theme like this. It’s coded in 5 days, although some part is copied and paste from my first theme and the default WP theme. I havent check the accessibility on older browser (IE 5 and older and so on), I hope it works fine ![]()
This theme is not yet ready for public release. Even if you wanted to download it, it may not be complete for some user, especially those who did the category and stuff. The public release is expected on end of September, after my 2 weeks exam starting next week.
Merdeka!! Merdeka!! Merdeka!! ![]()
I will try to blog in malay tommorow… X/

Malaysia Day vs. National Day
Our national day is 31st August. “Hari Kemerdekaan Malaysia”, they call it.
I began to wonder, why is this 31st August more important than 16 September? Isn’t 16 september the actual date when Malaysia is born? 31st August is just the independence of peninsula, known as Persekutuan Tanah Melayu 1957 (or Federation of Malaya as refered from wikipedia).
How about Sabah and Sarawak? We have not yet archieve our independence that time. We’re still under the British until the late Tunku Abdul Rahman suggested Malaysia. And Malaysia is born on 16 September 1963.
Everyone seems to forget that 16 September. I think this date is a much more important date than 31 August.

Merdeka Theme
At last, I’ve finally finished my Additional Maths Project. 4 days of struggling in front of the computer. Now I can go back to my normal routine. ![]()
Our National Day celebration is in like 5 days. To show my patriotism, I will create a Wordpress theme, the Merdeka Theme. I just hope that I can finish coding this theme in time. I plan to launch this theme on 31 August, 12 am (30 August midnight). Just as everybody shout “Merdeka”, I will be clicking the button “Activate” in my WP Admin panel. ![]()
Well, that’s the good news. A 2nd theme from me this September. Based on the Merdeka Theme, I will create a public release version, of course without the patriotic elements (malaysian flag will be removed etc etc). I just hope that I can finish the coding in 5 days. ![]()
