Nonsense Question

Have you ever met someone you know in shopping complex or any food shops? What will you do if you see them? Greet them? Well, of course of we will greet, right? What would our friend think of us if we don’t greet them or we pretend didnt see them? It’s bad isn’t it?

Sometime the thing they ask when they see us is rather ridiculous. Here’s some example.

You’re in a shopping complex. A friend sees you and greets you:
“Hi!! What are you doing here? Shopping har?”

You’re in a restaurant. A friend sees you and greets you:
“Hey, eating ar?”

You’re in the parking lot. A friend sees you and greets you:
“Go home liao har?”

You’re in the bus stop. A friend sees you and greets you:
“Wait for bus ar?”

I know, greeting is a good thing. But then, we should ask different question, right? As for me, I don’t ask those kinda question. You’re in the restaurant and you still ask him or her whether he is eating or not? It’s ridiculous. My greeting style is different.

If I saw a friend in a shopping complex with his or her family, then I would say:
“Hey, no need to study meh? Still shopping?”

If I saw a friend in a shopping complex alone, then I would say:
“Eherm, not with girlfriend/boyfriend meh?”

If I saw a friend in a food shop, it depend of what he or she is eating, then I would say:
“The (things he or she eats) is nice ar? I never tried them, maybe I should I try them”
Though you may have eat them before, but you’re trying to start a conversation.

I just have the thought that it is quite funny and stupid to ask the question that you already know the answer.
