Yea!! I’m Networked!!
I’ve eventually gotten all the gears for my streamyx. My brother and sister bought a D-Link DSL 500-T and LinkSys WRT54G, and the computer guy setup the network at my home around 4.30pm just now. I was happily sleeping when my sis call up, “Haiya still sleep!! Later those people come over the our house to setup network”.
And there the computer guy comes. I ask him a lot of n00b networking questions, since this is my first time on networking. Took him about 30 minutes to fully setup and testing. Cool, the wireless signal is strong, despite having to go through staircase and walls before going to my Bro’s WiFi card. Rocks on Linksys. Well, I have all the gears, I still can’t use streamyx. I still haven’t got my user id and password, the confirmation slip from TM. Maybe tommorow, hopefully.
Anyway, just now I tried calling 1300-88-9515 to activate my line.
Your calls are important to us. Please stay on the line. There’s currently 12 people ahead of you. You have to wait approximately 21 minutes
*the idiotic musics*
What the hell?? 21 minutes? I hang up. Try my luck tommorow.

The National Service
I’ve checked my name online and through the SMS Service, and fortunately I’m not picked for the National Service. A few schoolmate and net buddies are picked. Some is just fine with it, certain are not so happy with it. I am not sure about the accuracy of the Online Database or the SMS Service though, since some people claims the official list will be out at 22nd June 2005 for the lucky 1988 babies. So the result now might be not accurate
Anyway, one of my net buddy wants her words to be spread among Malaysian, about her views on the National Service. She’s unfortunately picked. Here’s her email:
From: Chiam Woh Chyi
TO: Whoever that’s gonna read this, even you, THE GOVERMENTEven if I am going to be captured and being thrown into the jail for harassing the goverment, I DO NOT mind!
I, Chiam Woh Chyi, this year gonna be 17 years was being “luckily” randomly selected for the national service.
But, This is NOT a happy thing to me.
When Malaysia was declared as a democratic country officially during the national day, It is said that we ARE in a democratic society.
But, What happened now? National Service?
Yes, giving the full marks for the gerko thing during the attendance to GERKO in the higher level might helps but this doesn’t mean we WANT to do so and join NATIONAL SERVICE.
We, a democratic country supposedly giving out freedoms to the citizens but then punishments will be given to those who didn’t attend the national service thingy and we are being rated as “FORCED TO ENTER”
Goverment, do you have a better thing to do?
A few years back, our present Prime Minister said our country is harmonious therefore there is no in need to do such thing.
Now, he was supporting the National Service. What is the meaning of harmonious then?
Are we trying to prove to others that Malaysia is not a peaceful country to others?
After two years of doing this program, how many actual reports were made and being told to the public?
Due to some research I have done, many cases such as sexual abusal was made by the trainers to the trainees and to ALL OF YOU’s INFORMATION, we girls are not specially made to protect ourselves but to be protected. (Yes, that’s a well known knowledge that everyone knew about)
But, the goverment tries to cover all of these up… is this a hidden face of Malaysia? Are you guys trying to think that we are gonna be happy if we get selected for National Service?
Please, If you guys want to hold such program, ask those who are willing to join. Even if we know how to protect the country but we are not willingly wanted to protect it, it is completely useless…
I do hope someone will take actions before further mistakes will be made!
There’s indeed some point in her. I may say I’m lucky for not being picked, but what she say is quite true, for a girl like her. I mean, she does have her rights right? Sexual abuse!! Ah come on, what’s next?
Whether you like it or not, you’re force to go to this National Service. If you don’t go, jailed and compound, and after that, you STILL HAVE TO GO. No matter what, you have to go if you’re on the lucky list.
Are you supporting the National Service? Or you are againts them?
** Update **
I saw Chiam Woh Chyi’s post on the MalaysiaBloggers Forum. Interesting, now I get to see what does the mature people has to say (most of them are older than me and Woh Chyi). I can see most of them have the stand for the National Service.
Maybe I should look at the bright side of National Service? Or shall I say I’m so unlucky not to be picked for the National Service?

Happy Birthday To ME~
Happy Birthday to Me~
Happy Birthday to Me~
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday~
Happy Birthday to ME~~
Happy 17th birthday to me
Looks like this is yet another same-old-birthday to me. A few send Happy Birthday SMS to me, thanks. A few said them in class, thanks. The others couldn’t be bothered, since I’m just a geek anyway. I’m now a year older, I should act like my age, not my shoe size. I should stop complaining, now even my brother is angry. I should just keep quiet. Bah~ :noworry:

Sometimes when we think of birthdays we just think of activities for children but there are many different kinds of birthdays that we celebrate, especially those of important people like Confucius’ Birthday in China for example.

I can have Streamyx, but I’m not on it?
It’s weird isn’t it? I kept complaining about how sucks TM and TMNet is. Even my sister and brother kept on saying, “What the fuck is wrong with TM?”. They actually have us wait a year for our streamyx, i guess installing extra port at my area is very, very, very hard.
Ok now, the port is actually ready. I can use streamyx anytime I want. The thing is, my brother and sister whose actually very anxious about this streamyx thing couldn’t be bothered about buying modems, router, and LAN card as mention in my previous post. I mean their not as anxious as before. Before the port is installed, they’re so eager for streamyx. They ask me to call them everyday to complain. Now port is ready, just needed line activation, and they’re my sis are like; “Next saturday baru buy modemlah…“.
Which is why now I’m still on 56k. How I wish I have the cash so I could buy the modem myself.

Help Me with Networking and Streamyx
I’m so blurred. I can use streamyx anytime, only after i buy modem, router and activate my line. The problem now is, I have 2 pc in my house and I’m not sure how to setup the network. And plus, my brother wants a wireless connection to his pc. Here’s some suggestion from my friend:

Ok, now I kinda know how to connect those thing, but now I still not sure what modem and router to get. I afraid that the modem I get will get frequent disconnection. I afraid that the wireless router that I get is not good enough.
Just hoping any petalingstreet people could help me out. Thanks. I’d prefer if you all could include the model name so that it’s easier for me to do searching and deciding. Tell me the price too :tounge:
