How to Not Be Picked for your Sports Day

January 14th, 2005 in Personal 1 Comment

Sports Day is near. The training starts this week. Training for my house is today. Damn, I hate it. I hate to be picked, I don’t want to be picked.

I’m big sized, the teacher just look at me and say, “You aaah, later try that peluru, cakera and lembing“. I was like, “What? Why me?”.

Oh well, me and my “hollywood” acting skills really works. So I tried, like what the teacher wants me to. I was shouting out loud, “aaarrgghhh!!!” and the peluru didnt go so far. Then, i sigh and say, “aduh!!”. The teacher shook his head. He canceled my name for all 3 events.

See? I manage to get out of it. Im not sports kinda guy. Im a computer freek. Why isnt there computer events in Sports Day? :P

Tuck in Your Shirt!!

January 13th, 2005 in Personal 1 Comment

It was my Malay Language class. Teacher write so many things on the board, and so, she ask if any student wants to help her clean the board. I volunteered.

So, I clean the white board. Clean, clean and clean. Then, when I finished the cleaning, the teacher say, “Hey, hold on, I have something for you.” I walked to my teacher’s desk. She was looking for something on her pencil case. She took out a stapler.

“Come, come here, nearer”, she says. And so she start stapling my shirt.

“Mr. Chan, if you think you’re a student, tuck in your shirt!!”

The stapler did stop my shirt from falling down. Lesson learnt: Tuck in my shirt. Oh well…

Please, Let Me Copy Your Homeworks!!

January 11th, 2005 in Personal 2 Comments

Copying homeworks is very common in my class. Well, not only my class, but this is kind of like a students’ style. I’m normally the “source” for all their “photostating” syndicate. Hah, only for this year. I was like one of them last year, because I’m lazy. Finishing my homeworks is one of my 2005 resolution

Anyway, there’s one thing I hate the most. I kindly borrow them my homeworks to them to so they can copy, to prevent teachers’ babblings. Nobody’s perfect. I myself isn’t a top student either. So, mistakes is common.

Whenever I did mistakes and they copied them, they start blaming me for providing them wrong answers. What are they thinking? I kindly give them answers, they easily blame me? Heck, why don’t you just do it yourself?

There’s one lesson learnt there.

Moral Studies, Useless Yet Important

January 10th, 2005 in Writings 18 Comments

Moral being a subject which is compulsory in SPM. I’d think it’s rather nonsense. What do we do in that subject? Here’s what all the student are force to do:
- Memorise all the moral values with the exact definition.

Ok, Moral might be one important subject, but memorising the moral values?

Is it like, when I did a good deed, then I would say, “I’m being bertanggungjawab today. I finished my homework.” Or maybe something like, “I just celebrate my Mom’s birthday. I have kasih sayang terhadap keluarga.”

I’ve been in secondary school for 4 years (this is my 5th year), and I always have to waste my time to memorise all those stupid moral values and the exact definition.

The Moral Studies paper consist of 8 question in part 1, and 3 essays (answer 2) in part 2. Part 1 is pretty ridiculous. They give you a situation, and there’s always a “must” question, which is:
- Apakah nilai moral yang diamalkan oleh Ali/Abu/any name?

Moral Studies would be better if they focus on the current issues about teenagers and their problems, where most student might face, or had face. We should be asked on how we must handle this kind of situation. This subject should make us (as student) think further and the consequences on teenagers’ issues. That’s a more meaningful Moral Studies.

Currently, Moral Studies is a compulsory for non-islam student in SPM. Useless as a subject for student to study, Important for SPM to score SPM.
