Win A Gmail From Me!!
I have too many Gmail invites to give out. I even provide 3 Gmail invites to a forum that I joined. Oh well, its like I got 6 Gmail invites reloaded to my mailbox daily. So, I decided to give it out through my blog.
To get this Gmail invite from me, it’s simple. All you have to do is answer my question correctly (use the comment system available). Make sure you typed in your correct email, because i will be sending the invite to the email. This tricky question is asked by my teacher.
The Missing Dollar
There’s 3 guys, rent a room in a hotel. Each of them paid RM30 for the room. So, this 3 guys went to their room. Ok now, the rent for the room is RM85. So, the hotel management people give the RM5 change to the one of the worker to give the money to those 3 guys. Now this nasty worker is very greedy. He took RM2 away from the RM5 change, as his tip, without the 3 guys knowing. So the worker give RM3 back to the 3 guys there.
That means, each of the 3 guys paid RM29, rite? Ok, lets look at the counting part.
RM29 x 3 = RM87.
The worker took away RM2, that means
RM87 + RM2 = RM89.In the begining, the 3 guys paid RM 90.
RM90 - RM89 = RM1Where does the RM1 goes?
So, think you got the answer? The first to get the answer correct gets a Gmail Invite from me. Good luck and happy thinking. BTW, this is an accounts-related question.

lets use this equations :
what men paid = what hotel received
30+30+30=90
30+30+30-5=90-5
(here is where the worker kept the money!)
30+30+25+2=85+2
30+30+27=85+2
87=87 !
what you do to one side has to be done likewise to the other side, so if you subtract 5 dollars from the 90 the manager received, you must also subtract 5 dollars from the 90 dollars the three guys paid. Then, you must add the 2 dollars tip the worker kept to both sides. There are not three parties involved in the end. The tip is considered wages on the part of the hotel. It’s a simple accounting equation if you think about it, or algebra even. Equations have to be kept equal at all times.
In other words, you try to make everything add up to 90, when in reality, 90 was no longer the sum after the manager refunded the 5 dollars. The sum should have been 85, but the bellboy took it upon himself to keep 2 dollars as a tip, so that makes the sum 87.
So the answer to the question is: there’s no missing dollar ?

My dear, look at the date…. it was 2004… GMAIL WAS RARE THAT TIME. Not everyone have gmail invites. Not everyone have gmail as their mail. Some even sell gmail at ebay. You can imagine how rare and valueble gmail was. That’s why I am doing this “Tricky Question” thing. It’s not like I am a teacher.
Now, everyone have gmail. For malaysian and some other selected countries, gmail can be registered via SMS. Maybe you want an invite? I have 100 invites in my account…
