Crappy Telekom!!
I wonder why? Is Telekom really that sucks? I mean, not only me complain about Telekom, Dr. Liew too. But im not too sure whether this is the fault of Telekom or TmNet. Bla… who cares, there are just the same.
This is about my Streamyx application. I still remember when i submit the form (my father was busy) last year December, and here’s the conversation between me and the girl at the counter:
Me: Here’s the streamyx application form.
The Girl: *types types types….* So, your number is XXXXXX?
Me: Yes, why?
The Girl: Your place is still using copper-wire line, so your place can’t use streamyx. To use streamyx, your place must use fibre optic wires
Me: ……………. *walk away, muka masam…*
And here’s what I read from Star.InTech yesterday…
Quote from Page 27 Star In.Tech:
…… The reason for the wait is that the building where i live has a digital line. I have to wait for Telekom to lay a copper wire…..
Now this guy here cant apply for streamyx because he doesnt have copper-wire line installed at his place. I cant apply because my place is using copper-wire line? What the heck? Telekom is crazy or what? Or is it because they don’t give ‘face’ to kids like me who wants to apply for Streamyx, maybe they think i knows nothing. Well, actually i know nothing about this streamyx thing.
Oh well, that’s last year. My brother just went to submit the form yesterday, again, hopefully now they dont give negative response. Ok, now I can have Streamyx, but I have to wait!!! Reason? Not enough what the heck port. And the telekom people say we will be in ‘waiting list’. When my bro ask how long we have to wait, they smile and answer nothing. I heard need to wait for about 3 months to a year!!! A Year!!!! Looks like my internet bills gonna suffer again… *sigh…*
Telekom should be better!! And that’s the bad thing about monopoly!! Telekom seems to me is the only ISP in Miri, please correct me if im wrong. Because of the monopoly, Telekom can become lazy, still getting a lot of customer!!! But Telekom should be considerate since they are the only one, they should give good service and support!! Lucky Jaring and TmNet didnt merge, if not, Malaysian ISP can be the worse in world!!
Hey, if you work for Telekom, no offence!! Im now in a feeling of throwing my angriness out!

It’s not really their fault you know.. first of all, you could’ve used their online registration at http://isp.tm.net.my which could’ve cut your time waiting in their god forsaken office.
Second of all, you could’ve used the online registration, and cut your “waiting” time for 3 months – 1 year to 1 day – 1 month. Also, you could’ve gotten a RM50 rebate + a free webcam.
Third of all, even with the calling off of Jaring and TMNet merging, don’t expect too much out of it. Mr. President of MIMOS screwed up big time when he invested on a 5 billion ringgit machine which had expired when it reached Malaysia.
For me, Telekom was good to me. When I applied for my phone line, it took them 12 hours to fix it ( 24hrs is the promised timing ), and 2 days for streamyx to be installed in my house despite the “lack of ports.” I did this all via online. So far, no screw ups by TMNet/Telekom yet.

hey, it’s dave from itchy hands. i really like your site. i’m really impressed that you’re only 15 years old and you already know so much abt the web. i read your profile and it made me laugh. about streamyx… you just have to wait ler… they’re like that. you have to wait until they install the network ports so they can handle more bandwidth. patient ok.
noor hidayat: of course it’s streamyx fault!! geminigeek is absolutely right when he says that this is the bad thing about monopoly. and i don’t think he’s talking about telekom and jaring merging. he’s not in klang valley you know. you’re lucky that tmnet has been good to you. for most people, tmnet is tmNUT.

monopoly is definitely bad. I’ve never agreed to it in my comments Dave but when I went to Telekom the other day to get my line fixed, I noticed the queue wasn’t for phone installations or faulty lines but it was almost a queue for streamyx applications and bill payments. That’s why I said, apply online instead. ^^
Also, when you hand over your streamyx application over to the counter lady, you’ll notice that the people who’ll come over to fix your streamyx is from Telekom and if you register via online, you’ll notice it’s gonna be from a dude from some shop. Those telekom dudes, they are slow but these privately owned shop dudes, geez they are fast… ( probably because of the commision ) This is actually my 2nd time fixing streamyx you know. ^^ All this is happening in Melaka.. not Klang Valley. I don’t know how fast they are in KV though. Maybe Melaka’s Terrorkom is actually Telekom? hehe

Its not that i dont wan to apply online, but it would be easier to apply at Kedai Telekom cos i got soooo many question to ask them about this streamyx thing. *sigh…* No streamyx means high internet bills!!! My internet bill is more that RM120!! My dad is very angry ler… *sob sob sob*
David: thanks for liking my site ^^ I like to keep my site simple. I dont see anything funny in my profile tho…

I’m living in Georgetown and I got my Streamyx within 4 days (2 working days actually) and like what noor hidayat said, I submitted the form online but this time a Telekom employee came and installed the line and modem!

aloha bro!!
never visited ur blog b4 this lol
bumped into this add when reading back issue of the star XD.
my story:
I tried to check my area’s availability but my 1st 4 digits wasnt there, the page even unupdated that time coz it only shows 7 digits for my area. I didnt really care ’bout that and my itchy fingers just register online. I just wait and wait for about 2 days and i e-mailed to them about the issue of this copper-stuff. The staff said wait for sometime coz they need to lay cable bla bla bla. I continue harasing them with calls and more emails mwahahahhaha!!
By the next 3 days, technicians from nowhere came to my house with me unprepared with NIC. So they installed Streamyx the next day. They’re so lame for not bringing xtra xtra NICs and they charged RM 50 for that NIC. Dammit!! I should have bought the NIC b4. IT ONLY COSTS RM 20 !! Sigh….
Morale: 1.Prepare ur NIC b4 they come to ur house unexpectedly. Hahaha!!
2. Dun blieve at what they say about copper bla bla bla
Peace out
